A long trail of blood that has involved some prominent figures in Russian civil and political society in mysterious deaths. Last in chronological order was the bank’s vice president, Kristina Baikova, 28, who died under mysterious circumstances at her home a few days ago. The girl fell from the balcony of her apartment when she was with a friend.

But Kristina Baikova’s death was just the latest in a long line of mysterious deaths that have unfolded in Russia in recent months. Other cases included Ravil Maganov, CEO of Russian oil company Lukoil, and Igor Shkurko, deputy general manager of Yakutskenergo, another Russian energy company. Finally, Petr Kucherenko, a minister who had privately condemned the war in Ukraine.
