According to Ukrainian authorities, Russia launched a largescale attack against Ukraine on Monday (8). According to the armed forces, all regions of the country have been put on alert for air strikes. Two people died and several were injured.

An official tally of the total number of victims had not been released as of the last update of this report. However, Ukrainian authorities said that homes, businesses and industries were affected by the bombings.

“Kiev, protect!” the Ukrainian Air Force ordered in a messaging app, saying that the capital was under threat from ballistic missiles.

In Kiev, dozens of people ran to subway stations to seek shelter in the face of the threat.

In Kryvyi Rih, in the south of the country, more than 15,000 people were without electricity. A shopping center and several buildings were damaged.

“The enemy is violently attacking peaceful cities,” said Oleksandr Vilkul, the city’s mayor.

An industry and an educational institution were shelled in Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine. In Zaporizhzhia in the southeast, four people were injured in explosions in residential areas.

Ukrainian military personnel in other regions also claimed that their cities were under a “massive missile attack” from Russia.
