“The Joe Biden administration’s decision to supply cluster munitions to the Kiev regime is another blatant expression of the aggressive US anti-Russian course aimed at prolonging the conflict in Ukraine and fighting to the ‘last Ukrainian’,” Foreign Affairs spokeswoman María Zajarova said in a statement.
According to Russian diplomacy, it is a “cynical attempt to prolong the agony of the current Ukrainian authorities, regardless of the civilian casualties.” Zakharova assured that the delivery of these weapons “will not affect the course of the special military operation, the objectives of which will be fully achieved,” and also argued that the US is well aware of Kiev’s promises that it will use these indiscriminate weapons be “cautious” and “responsible” “they are worthless”.
The spokeswoman noted that experience with the use of cluster munitions in the Middle East and other regions of the world shows that their elements remain unexploded for a long time and can explode after the end of hostilities.
