Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov will visit Cuba on April 19, the island’s Foreign Ministry reported on Twitter.

Lavrov is on a journey that will take him to Brazil, Venezuela, Nicaragua and this Caribbean nation from the 17th to the 21st for mutually beneficial cooperation in politics, trade, economy, education, humanity, culture and other areas to promote.

Meetings with the heads of state and government of these countries and negotiations with the respective foreign ministers are on his agenda.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, these meetings will focus negotiations on strengthening the international legal bases of the modern world, the basic framework of which is the Charter of the United Nations.

For Russia, Latin America is a friendly region, one of the training centers of a multipolar world, with which this country wants to maintain a dynamic dialogue and develop constructive cooperation that is not subject to external dictates, the country’s source pointed out.
