Ryan Gosling donned a sharp suit as he accompanied Greta Gerwig at the 39th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday.
The 43-year-old Hollywood actor, who recently reunited with his La La Land co-star Emma Stone at the Golden Globes, was honored with the Kirk Douglas Award at the event at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara.
The star hit the red carpet in a black button-down shirt that was partially open at the top and tucked into the waistband.
He paired the monochrome look with a sleek jacket and slipped on a pair of shiny black shoes for the finishing touch.
Gosling was soon joined by the 40-year-old Barbie director, who turned heads in a sleeveless black dress with dazzling silver floral embellishments throughout.

During Saturday's celebration, the Drive actor was honored with the 16th Annual Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film.
According to the festival's website, the award is given to “a lifetime contribution to cinema through work in front of the camera, behind the camera, or both.”
Other previous recipients of the award include Hugh Jackman, Michelle Yeoh, Martin Scorsese, Jane Fonda and also Harrison Ford.
The ceremony “also benefits the year-round educational programs of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and was the most successful fundraiser in SBIFF history.”

Barbie broke the record by winning a total of 18 awards for the event, including Best Picture, Best Director for Gerwig and also Best Actress for Margot Robbie.
