Saint-Émile family celebration: a 28th edition that makes everyone happy – Le Journal de Québec

the 28the The edition of the Fêtes de la Famille de Saint-Émile has been held in the Parc Réal-Cloutier since Friday, to the great delight of the residents of the district of La Haute-Saint-Charles, who can notably attend free performances by well-known artists from the world of music.

The event, which is expected to attract hundreds of people again this year, will feature plenty of family-friendly activities such as inflatable games and no-greens musical performances featuring Yelo Molo and The Lost Fingers, bands which the organization says still have a loyal following.

“There is a real buzz and people look forward to the program every year. As we get bigger, we even get a lot of customers from outside,” underlines Charles Englehart, who has worked on the organization of the holiday for 14 years.

He also says that he is very happy that the population is still present at this annual meeting.

“It will be a big race again this year. Our VIP area is already full for tomorrow night’s Pink Floyd tribute show alone and the enthusiasm is terrible,” he says happily.

As the cost of living continues to rise, it seems increasingly difficult to attend such events for free, and that’s what makes the event so successful, says Englehart.

“It’s been free since 2014, but to offer parties of this quality that the population doesn’t pay for, you need a lot of money and many partners. There are many people behind it who work hard and that makes it a success every year.”
