In an interview with Rolling Stone, the Marvel star revealed that he has concerns about the use of artificial intelligence in the entertainment industry.
“People are just starting to worry about this? “I asked the question a long time ago,” the actor told the publication, before explaining how his body was “scanned” for the Star Wars and Marvel projects.
“When I first got scanned for George Lucas, I wondered what that was for,” the pulp fiction star continued. George and I are good friends so we had a laugh about it because I thought he would because he had all these old guys in episode 1 and if anything happened to them he still wanted them in the film. »
Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), explained that he was scanned every time he got a new costume. “Ever since I did Captain Marvel, they’ve done the Lola project where they made me look younger and stuff like that. I figured they could do that whenever they wanted if they really wanted to,” he added.
The actor also acknowledged that AI in Hollywood “could be a cause for concern” and advised actors to be very careful with their contracts. “Prospective actors should do what I always do when I get a contract and it says ‘permanent’ and ‘known and unknown’: I cross those words out,” he said. “It’s my way of saying, ‘No, I don’t like that.’ »
