Sandy and Lucas explain their decision to separate
Sandy and Lucas Lima spoke for the first time since announcing their split after 24 years together. During the Saturday edition (30) of the program “Altas Horas” by TV GloboSandy said they still love each other and are best friends.
“It’s not an easy thing, everyone doesn’t know how to behave, it’s strange. But there is a friendship, an intimacy, a love of 24 years that will never change. We love each other very much, we are best friends and it will stay that way,” he said.

Lucas emphasized that the moment in which both made the decision was important so that there would be no arguments in the future.
“What we are going through is nothing unusual, many people feel it, but it is very difficult for us to end a relationship in a place like this. Generally, people end up having to accept and wear down the relationship. “Until the moment of anger, fight and use that as fuel to make that decision.”
The broadcast, recorded last Tuesday (26), was attended by numerous fans of the now excouple and members of the singer’s fan clubs, who reported on social media about the background to the recording.
Sandy and Lucas Lima have created a number of collaborative compositions, albums and arrangements, including hits such as the track “Me Espera” recorded with Tiago Iorc and the singer’s latest album, “nós, Voz, Eles”, released in 2018.
For example, Sandy and Lucas Lima composed the song “Abri Os Olhos” together, which the singer performed together with her brother. Other hits from the excouple include “Pés Cansados”; “Quem Eu Sou,” a song from the singer’s first solo studio album; and “sand.”

The influence of her now exhusband on Sandy’s career is also reflected in her studio albums. Lucas Lima arranged the albums “Manuscrito” from 2010 and “Meu Canto” from 2016. The musician also worked on “Princípios, Meios e Fins” and “Sim” from 2012 and 2013, respectively.
The singer and musician announced the decision on social media. “It was not an easy or impulsive decision. It was practically 24 years of relationship and 15 years of marriage. With ups and downs, sometimes happier, sometimes less, but always holistic and ready to give our best. And that’s what we did.”
“There was no fight, no injury, no trauma… we were able to realize that this was the best way and we will stop being a couple as we were: with a lot of love, respect and endless friendship.”
