Senna is equal: Max Verstappen wins the Canadian Grand Prix and the 41st of his career

Max Verstappen won the Canadian Grand Prix, the eighth stage of the Formula 1 World Championship, for the second time in a row on Sunday.

This win, the 41st of his career, equals the record held by Brazilian legend Ayrton Senna. And it is also the 100th victory for the Red Bull team since entering Formula 1.

From the top position, the Red Bull Team driver led the 70-lap race from start to finish without really worrying.

He was ahead of Fernando Alonso, who started alongside him on the front row of the grid in his Aston Martin. The Spaniard reached the podium for the seventh time in eight events this season.

Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), Alex Albon (Williams), Esteban Ocon (Alpine) followed in turn.

Quebecois Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate, finished his career in ninth place, allowing him to add two points to his 2023 harvest.
