Sharon Osbourne, 71, admits she could “gain a few pounds but her body won’t listen” after losing 42 pounds with a weight-loss drug

Sharon Osbourne has admitted she could do with “putting on a few pounds” after losing 42 pounds using Hollywood’s controversial weight-loss drug.

The former X Factor judge, 71, spoke about her concerns about the weight loss drug, which left her “sick the whole time” during her appearance on Good Morning Britain on Friday.

Sharon told hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway: “It does what it says on the tin, it definitely does.” But my only fear is that it gets into the right hands. I don’t think it’s for teenagers.

“I’m afraid for 16 to 20 year olds.” It’s easy to say; “That’s it, I can eat whatever I want and keep taking this injection. I think it needs to be put in the hands of older people who fully understand that it can have side effects.”

“I don’t want young girls because in the world we live in today everyone wants to be thin.”

Sharon recounted her experience of taking the weight loss medication she took last December: “I just got tired of constantly fluctuating back and forth with my weight.” I thought I’d tried everything, so I thought, I could try it too.

“I could gain a few pounds.” But at this point my body is in a state where it doesn’t listen anymore.

“Ozzy doesn’t like it. He thinks something will happen to me. It’s too good to be true.’

In an interview with Piers Morgan in September, Sharon spoke about how the side effects affected her.

“It’s a mental health problem.” “It really is, except, you know, when children grow up in a household where they live on chips and cake,” she said.

“But I took it [the injection]. I took it for four months and lost 30 pounds, but as with anything, there is no quick fix.”

She continued: “I was very ill for a few months. For the first few months I was just nauseous. Every day I felt nauseous, my stomach was upset, you name it.

“But listen, I took it for four months and lost 30 pounds.” I just popped two chips in my mouth at break and am now eating normally without having gained a pound. Nothing.’

Sharon had previously undergone gastric bypass surgery in 1999 after struggling with her weight for years.

Ozempic, also known as Wegovy, is the brand name for semaglutide, which works in the brain to make you feel full.

According to the company’s website, taking the drug can cause unpleasant side effects, including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and constipation.

“I started at Ozempic last December and I’ve been away from it for a while now, but my warning is don’t pass it on to teenagers, it’s just too easy,” the music manager said.

“You can lose so much weight and it’s easy to become addicted to it, which is very dangerous,” admitted the 5’10” star.

“I couldn’t stop losing weight and have now lost 42 pounds and I can’t afford to lose any more.”

Elsewhere, Sharon recently spoke about having her latest cosmetic surgery after a previous facelift left her looking like “Quasimodo”.

The former music executive has spoken openly about her penchant for aesthetic enhancements over the years, but hasn’t denied her regrets.

“There isn’t a single part of my body that I haven’t had twisted, lifted, stretched or whatever,” she told the Daily Star.

“I’ve gotten confused many times. The latter was some sort of repair job by the guy who did it before.

“I looked like Quasimodo because I had one eye here and one eye there. It was evil.’

The mother-of-three previously confirmed that the disastrous facelift took place in October 2021 and lasted five and a half hours.

Hollywood’s controversial weight loss drug

Originally approved for diabetes, Wegovy has since been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat patients with obesity.

Ozempic is only approved for the treatment of diabetics, but is often given off-label for weight loss.

Both contain the same key ingredient semaglutide, which suppresses appetite and is hailed as a “game-changer” for resulting weight loss.

Wegovy costs more than $1,300 for a 28-day supply, while Ozempic costs about $900 per month.

Both should be prescribed by a doctor, but there are concerns that people are accessing the drugs online through unregulated providers.
