a new photo of She Hulk shows that the series’ CGI technology, which previously drew much criticism from fans, has been significantly improved. This time, Jennifer Banner’s look is more sophisticated and textured, much closer to reality than the one shown in May’s trailer.
Published by SFX Magazine (via Comic Book), the appearance of Tatyana Maslany now resembles what we saw in She Hulk comics. With the update, we can see greater naturalness in the character’s hair and even more detailed facial features. Check it out below:
The CGI of the series was considered of dubious quality by fans at first sight. The preview spawned several memes on social media, but also sparked discussions about the abusive terms the studios are proposing to professionals in the area.
The principal Kat Coiroeven commented on the criticism, saying they weren’t aimed at the show’s CGI: “I think a lot of the reactions have to do with the fact that it’s so different than anything we’ve ever seen,” he commented.
Alongside Maslany, SheHulk stars as Hamilton’s Renée Elise Goldsberry; Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra and Jon Bass. Jameela Jamil will play the villainous Titania, and recently actors Benedict Wong and Griffin Matthews have been linked to the series.
The show is slated to premiere on August 17 on Disney+.
