As a victim of domestic violence for 23 years, Christine Giroux experienced a real ordeal and wants to warn the population about the consequences of the scourge of violence against women.

In an interview with Jean-François Guérin on “Dossiers en cours”, the victim told of her ordeal.

While she “tolerated” her ex-partner’s multiple attacks, violence against her children was one of the “triggering elements.”

The woman feared for her life several times, so she wrote her will.

“I was really ready to leave this world. I was physically harmed, I was kidnapped, I was raped, I had fists in my arms. My arm was broken in several places. I was stabbed too,” she says.

“I had a lot of physical injuries, I had to be hospitalized.”

Shaken by emotion, Christine Giroux recalls the time her ex-partner tried to put her son's face in a bag of cocaine.

“I endured the abuse, but when it was directed at my children, it stopped working,” she explains.

The Quebec woman who was a victim of domestic violence filed multiple complaints against her attacker.

In the face of the latter's manipulative speeches, Christine Giroux withdrew several complaints before suffering the abuse again.

“We believe that with our love we will change people. We give them chances, but once it hits, it will always be that way. “It won’t change,” she assures in a message for victims of domestic violence.
