“Les temps fous is a large stage that brings together three guests from different generations to play, laugh, chat and compare our perceptions of certain events based on our age. It fits into the larger timeline. “It will really be a historical overview, but through the eyes of different generations,” reveals Édith about this one-hour program, which will be presented starting next winter. It will be very nice as we will be filming on the sets of the Cirque Éloize warehouses.”

RETURN TO THE GAME
The actress hasn’t been idle in recent weeks either, having returned to acting after appearing in the shows Les Sapiens and Web Therapy in recent years. To his resume we now have to add a role in a new TV series. “I just finished filming Inspire, Exhale, written by Sonia Cordeau. The cast includes Marc Labrèche, Sonia Cordeau, Virginie Fortin and Steve Laplante. It tells the story of two girls who find themselves in a Yoya retreat run by a production company that I play. She’s no good, she’s a neophyte, an opportunist, and she’s there to sell items, water bottles with her face on them, and yoga mats. But a murder is committed on the first night… I also shot two films recently, so I’m very busy!”

A jump into a vacuum
After spending eight years alongside presenter André Robitaille on the set of the show “Les enfants de la télé”, Édith decided to shake things up by leaving this position and in that moment, as she herself says, it was a leap into the void because she had nothing waiting for her. “In my heart I told myself there were many other things I could do and I felt like it would happen. It was good timing. Since leaving Children of TV I’ve done a lot of business: I’ve written two children’s books, I’m directing and I’m a referee at LNI. There are different paths and that’s what I wanted. I do a lot of things because I created space, but I also think that when you limit yourself to one image, people think that’s all you do. By breaking this chain, we are suddenly taking a leap into the void, but there are many opportunities.”

A NEW GARDEN
Édith says she is excited to return to the animation industry with Les temps fous. “It’s something that appeals to me because I’m very interested in the generational perspective. With Les Enfants de la Télé, I found that the best shows were those that brought people from different generations together. This new show will therefore be presented in January, but it has already been recorded and we will start filming in October. I’m very involved in pre-production; I’m there every step of the way. Otherwise, we’ll finish the new season of the documentary series about self-sufficiency. It’s more than a garden (which she designed with her partner Emmanuel Bilodeau). Filming will follow our summer, but the harvest will take until fall. We have reached a new location, in the Eastern Townships. We were in the Laurentians and decided to sell. Now we really have a large piece of land that has a lot of potential. We have a large vegetable garden measuring 150 x 100 feet. It’s a crazy deal! I’m very excited! We have a coop, chickens and are part of a movement for environmental responsibility and self-sufficiency. Given food prices and our dependence on large production chains, we asked ourselves what we can do, and this is the right thing for now. It’s a very promising project, people talk to us a lot about it. Watching the show, viewers see that we are learning at the same time as them because we are supported by mentors and specialists. We get there through trial and error,” she says. Will there be a continuation of this project that is making big waves and of interest to many people? “Look, this is the fourth season we’ve done and I’d say it’s been 10 years! It’s infinite!”

breath in, breath out will be featured on Crave in October.
