Single and ready to mingle Sunrises Mark Beretta looks suave

Single and ready to mingle? Sunrise’s Mark Beretta looks suave in a tailored suit as he heads to the Channel Seven Upfronts after splitting from his wife of 22 years

Mark Beretta cut a suave figure as he attended the Channel Seven Upfronts in Sydney on Wednesday evening.

The popular Sunrise sports reporter, who recently split from his wife Rachel after 22 years of marriage, looked every bit the stylish bachelor on the night.

The veteran presenter beamed as he turned heads on the red carpet in an impeccably tailored navy suit.

Adding a touch of sex appeal to the look, Mark opted to wear a crisp white shirt without the hassle of a tie or pocket square.

The 57-year-old completed his look with elegant evening shoes and ensured his salt-pepper buzz cut was styled to perfection.

Mark and his former partner Rachel, whom he married in 2001, confirmed in a recent statement that they had quietly split in recent months.

“Earlier this year, after much thought and 22 years of marriage, Rach and I came to the conclusion that a separation was best for us,” Beretta told Chron Australia through a Seven spokesperson.

“We remain good friends, and our two children and grandchild remain our focus and priority as we move forward with love, dignity and respect.”

The couple, who met in 1999, have two children together: daughter Ava, 19, and son Dan, 16.

There were signs of trouble ahead of the split when the couple put their Mosman home on the market in February.

The sports reporter sold his Balmoral Slopes home for $13 million in May.

They had to settle for less than their original expectations of $15.5 million and reduced the list price by $1.75 million.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom retreat has struggled to attract potential buyers.

The Berettas later decided to add another $750,000 before finally sealing the deal in May.

The couple had spent the last few years rebuilding the Mandolong Road home they bought in 2016 for more than $6 million.

They spent more than $900,000 on renovations, according to council documents.

In September, Mark was spotted driving around in a powerful $275,000 black Maserati.

Mark has previously spoken fondly of his wife, describing how they fell in love after being set up on a blind date by friends.

“(My friend) said to me, ‘If you don’t come to the Middle Park Hotel tonight you’ll regret it for the rest of your life,'” he told The Daily Telegraph in 2017.

“So I actually did a U-turn and went back.” Rach and I talked for about 20 minutes and I just said, “Wow, she’s great.”

Earlier this year he described his family life as “in full swing” and explained that, in addition to his wife and son, he also lives with a grandchild, the son of his teenage daughter Ava, and her partner.

“There’s our children Ava and Daniel, Ava’s partner Sam and our grandson Arlo, so it’s a full house,” he told The Australian in July.

“The house is built on a hill so it’s spread over three levels and we’re lucky enough to have a view of the beach below and a pool at the back, which we love.”
