Solar winds could hit by Friday

Scientists are warning of solar winds of around 3 million kilometers per hour that could reach Earth by Friday. The winds were generated by a gigantic “hole” in the sun’s surface. A few days ago, astronomers discovered a sun hole 30 times the size of Earth. They claim that as this first “hole” begins to rotate away from us, it will give way to another huge sun hole about 18 to 20 times the diameter of Earth.

Coronal holes are responsible for the release of solar winds into space; Radiation can seriously damage satellites and reveal gorgeous auroras when they hit our planet. However, scientists have no concerns about potential damage to Earth’s infrastructure. Sun holes coronal holes are fairly common phenomena, but they usually occur in the polar regions of the Sun.

We are experiencing a period of intense solar activity which occurs every 11 years. Therefore, according to Mathew Owens, a professor of space physics, these holes are more likely to be observed at the Sun’s equator university reading, in England. The scholar said: “[o buraco solar] Since we are on the equator, we are guaranteed to see a fast wind on Earth a few days after it has passed the central meridian.”

to the popular magazine insiderDaniel Scharen, Associate Professor of Space and Climate Physics universityof London, said: “I would expect some faster winds to hit Earth from this coronal hole from Friday night through Saturday morning this week.”
