What would you do if you found lost items from other people’s heirlooms? A woman in the United States has decided to reunite the lost items and the families who own them. Although this has become a great hobby, the North American idea has helped many people across the country.

Aspiring genealogist Chelsey Brown has a true passion for finding “lost treasures” and returning them to those who deserve them. Brown is an interior designer based in Manhattan, New York, but once her shift is over, she begins her double journey in search of lost heirlooms from other families.
To date, she has returned over 500 items to their rightful owners.
Lost legacy and passion for investigation
Chelsey explained that she is a great lover of mystery and that every time she begins searching for the owners of an item, she feels like she is in an investigation. Chelsey begins her search for possible lost items in thrift store and tallow. “It’s crazy what I found. All of the Holocaust items that I was able to return were special,” he said.
To find the possible owners of the lost items, Chelsey searches the items for clues that could lead her to the true rightful owners. After finding these details, she begins looking for demographics in the area that might tell her something new.

Then Brown follows up marriage certificates or other legal documents to get the items back. “I think it’s comforting for people to know that after an encounter where exactly the same thing happened to some in the 1850s, they can’t get in touch with anyone but by letter,” he explained. Though she keeps finding these items, Chelsey says she still gets emotional about the love letters.
“I thought this was amazing, written by a woman who was in a long distance relationship. It was full of love letters and poetry,” he said.
