Spain: An investigation was launched following the use of AI "DELETE" Clothing for young girls Tech & Co

Several young girls received fake images of themselves altered by artificial intelligence to make them appear naked. Spanish police have launched an investigation.

The affair sparks controversy. Spanish police have launched an investigation into a suspected crime of “invasion of privacy” after reports were filed by about ten young girls from Almendralejo, Spain, a town in the southwest of the country. The teens, ages 11 to 17, say they received photos that showed them naked, CNN reports. Spanish police say artificial intelligence was used to create fake images that could produce realistic photos of people without clothes.

“They manipulated photos of underage girls” to place their faces on “other people’s (naked) bodies,” a Spanish police spokesman said, pointing to some of the alleged perpetrators who have already been identified by authorities. The prosecution stated that, given the age of the victims, those responsible could also be charged with child pornography.

Attempted blackmail

In a video posted on her Instagram account, Miriam Al Adib, mother of one of the victims, called on the perpetrators to cooperate with the police. She says she fears that the images will be distributed on pornographic sites or OnlyFans.

Pilar Porrón, also the mother of one of the victims, testified on the Spanish public television TVE about the blackmail attempt against her daughter. A man demanded money from him in exchange for not revealing the doctored photos.

This event occurs as Spain is rocked by the Luis Rubiales affair. The former president of the Spanish Football Federation is accused of kissing Jennifer Hermoso, a player for the Spanish women’s national team and winner of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, without his consent.
