Canadian actor Kenneth Mitchell, best known for his roles in “Star Trek: Discovery” and “Captain Marvel,” died on Saturday at the age of 49.
His family announced this in a post on their Instagram account.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, a beloved father, husband, uncle, son and friend,” it said.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Toronto in 1974.
In 2018, he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
The actor has more than 50 roles in television series or films, including “Captain Marvel,” “Jericho” and “Miracle.”
He also played five different roles in the series “Star Trek: Discovery” between 2017 and 2021.
