Ayesha Curry lost 35 pounds in 2020 and is now working hard to build more muscle and feel “strong” in her skin in 2023.
The 33-year-old actress – who is married to professional basketball player Stephen Curry – has spoken to People magazine about her New Year’s resolutions.
The influencer initially said that she’s more of a “monthly resolution type” and that it makes it easier to keep track of her small wins.

The chef and cookbook author has been on a health journey for three years, and now that she’s lost weight, she wants to get definition for her body.
“One of my big resolutions for January will be to build some muscle mass. I’ve lost 35 pounds in the past year which I’m really happy about, but now I want that definition and I want to feel strong in my skin.
The beauty also told People that she needs to remember not to compare her fitness achievements to others, particularly her NBA superstar husband Stephen Curry.
The couple met while attending the same church as teenagers. Their relationship only blossomed into a romantic one when they reconnected years later, in 2008.

Focused: The 33-year-old shared that one of her goals for 2023 is to gain more muscle mass
They married in June 2011 and had their first child, Riley, 10, the following year. The couple then welcomed two more children, Ryan, seven, and Canon, four.
Ayesha admitted to People that she’s learned not to be competitive with her health and fitness journey and to stay happy with the progress she’s already made, especially since having three kids in the last 10 years.
She said: “I’m married to a high-level athlete who does everything. And I think I had to be honest with myself and realize that I can’t and don’t have to do this to see the results that I want to see.
“I kind of had this inner competition that didn’t exist. And so I was almost always defeated in everything I did because I couldn’t do it at that level. I think I had to take a second, take a deep breath and just realize, do what you can and that’s enough.”
Taking care of herself: The mother of three opened up about not comparing her fitness achievements to her husband Stephen Curry, who is a professional basketball player in the NBA
Stephen is the point guard for the Golden State Warriors and is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time and the greatest shooter in NBA history.
As part of her New Year’s goal, Ayesha has partnered with MyFitnessPal and is participating in their two-week Jumpstart Your Health Challenge. The app is a nutrition and fitness app that helps its users track meals, learn habits, and achieve goals.
“Every year when the New Year is around the corner, everyone goes all out, hits the wall trying to do the best, and you almost always end up failing.
“And here’s how this Jumpstart Your Health Challenge makes it easy. It’s not overwhelming; it is accessible.’

After spending time making changes, the beauty realized that high-intensity workouts don’t work for her.
“So for me, going for a hike and being in nature, jogging or exercising for 20 minutes works better than an hour. And I started seeing more results. Pilates and yoga and hiking, those are the things I’ve seen the most change in.
Ayesha shared her thoughts on being kind to yourself throughout her fitness journey and encouraged others to do the same as they try to achieve their goals for the new year.
She said: “You might have a day where it doesn’t feel good and it doesn’t work, and that’s okay. But know that every step, big or small, is a step in the right direction.”
Pretty in Pink: The bombshell learned that high-intensity workouts weren’t for her and that walking or jogging helped her lose weight faster
