Strictly Come Dancing's Claudia Winkleman has a new puppy and guess what, it's a King Cha-Cha-Charles!

She said she said goodbye to Radio 2 to spend more time with her children.

But Claudia Winkleman appears to have fallen in love with a furrier family member in the form of a new puppy.

The 51-year-old Strictly Come Dancing presenter was seen walking a black and tan King Charles Spaniel in Belgravia, central London.

She wore a dark puffer coat with Adidas pants and Stan Smith sneakers as she and her pet paid a visit to Le Wag dog salon.

Ms Winkleman made a public plea to film producer husband Kris Thykier during her Bafta acceptance speech in May.

After thanking her colleagues, she pointed to Thykier and said, “Thank you to my husband Kris.” Can we have a dog, please? That's in parentheses.'

Her cheeky request was met with laughter and cheers at London's Royal Festival Hall.

The addition of the dog coincides with Ms Winkleman's announcement last week that she will be leaving her BBC Radio 2 show in March after 15 years on air to spend more time with children Jake, 20, Matilda, 17 and Arthur (11).

“The truth is that my children are growing up too quickly, so I decided to accompany them at home before they leave for good,” she said at the time.

Tonight she will host the Strictly final, with Bobby Brazier, Ellie Leach and Layton Williams battling it out for the Glitterball trophy.
