“And we had fun watching each other work and we caught lightning in a bottle. Lucky you, you know? Now we are very happy about the recognition of our colleagues.”

The fourth and final season of Succession aired in May and the series received widespread critical acclaim – despite its shocking, tragic Shakespearean conclusion.
In this episode, the fate and future of the children of the Roy family and the company founded by their late billionaire media mogul father Logan Roy (Cox) were at stake.
The entire series has been building up to the final episodes as all of Logan's children – Kendall (Strong), Roman (Culkin), Shiv (Snook) and Connor (Ruck) – prepare for the final board vote of Waystar Royco's merger with Lukas Matsson's (Skarsgard) GoJo.
The 90-minute series finale was directed by Mark Mylod and written by series creator Jesse Armstrong. After many twists and turns, it was Tom Wambsgans (Macfadyen) who finally took over the position of CEO of Waystar under the new owner Lukas Matsson.
Chron television critic Christopher Stevens gave the show five stars and said the ending was “everything we hoped for”.
The finale of “Succession” received rave reviews from all critics, who warned that the ending should come with a “psychological warning.”
As a result, the fate and future of the children of the Roy family and the company founded by their late billionaire media mogul father Logan (Cox) were at stake
He wasn't surprised by the “strong language from the start and throughout” – it was the very last episode of the “most sweary £@%&ing show in television history”. “We would have been horrified if there hadn’t been strong language.”
But he added: “We should have been warned that what followed was a 90-minute drama so painful and punishing that by the end my internal organs felt like Roman Roy's face looked – stitched up and bleeding everywhere.”
At the very least, we deserved a warning: “This show contains intense scenes of psychological and emotional breakdown.”
“The idea of Tom being the eventual successor has been something that I thought was the right ending for some time,” series creator Jesse told HuffPost about the finale.
“While he may not be the most powerful monarch you will ever meet, his power comes from Matsson [Skarsgard],' he added. “There are figures like that who drift upwards and make themselves accessible to powerful people.”
The series attracted 2.9 million viewers across linear television channels and the streaming service Max.
