“A lot of us had never done the things that we did on that show,” Riley said.

“I had never sung, I had never played the guitar. Suki hadn’t played, you hadn’t played the keys (Suki shakes his head, no), you know, the other band members had either never played their instruments or hadn’t in a while,” Keough said.

Keough said of her character Daisy Jones, “I play a young singer-songwriter who somehow discovers that she wants to be a singer and performer.

“And eventually joins the band with these boys and girls (tap Waterhouse) and we become Daisy Jones and The Six,” she said.

Suki added, “I guess like being with all these empowered, confident women, I thought it’s time to make the record I want to make. And I didn’t really realize that by the time we released the show I’d done about 70 shows and two tours and it’s like a lot has happened.

“I really wanted this project, and maybe subconsciously it had something to do with my own desire to make a record,” she explained.

The beauty further expressed her desire to pursue the role, adding, “I’ve always wanted the life of a musician so badly and that’s why I was really drawn to the project. Then my life kind of merged into those two things where I recorded my record while preparing for Daisy Jones.

Before filming officially began, Suki revealed that her character required her to work on her piano skills.

“It was a huge gift that we had this studio open to us for two years and we worked about three hours a day to become a band. That was basically the goal: ‘We could go on tour.’

She later added, “From where I am now, I don’t even know if those two things would have existed without each other. It’s a beautiful gift I’ve received from playing this character.”

On set, the British star developed a close friendship with her co-star Camila, who previously dated Leonardo DiCaprio until their split in 2022.

During a joint interview with Town And Country Magazine, Suki expressed that the duo have a very “natural friendship.”
