What undoubtedly stands out most to respondents is the news. After the pandemic and the spread of the virus, which has brought entire countries to their knees, comes the war in Ukraine and the earthquake in L’Aquila. The survey in question, which makes known the fears and desires of a large part of the Italian population, was published on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the birth of the All News channel and carried out by the Quorum/YouTrend research institute for Sky TG24. Specifically, according to the data collected, Covid has influenced the imagination of 67% of Italians, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict 49% and the L’Aquila earthquake 32%, even though 15 years have now passed since this drama.

Another fact that shaped popular opinion was the death of Pope Wojtyła, as well as the shipwreck of the Costa Concordia cruise. Among other things, the appointment of Giorgia Meloni as Prime Minister stands out. For 11% of respondents, the election of Italy’s first female prime minister is an event they can hardly forget. This was followed by the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the coronation of King Charles III, the attack on the Charlie Hebdo office in France, Italy’s victory in the 2006 World Cup and the great financial crisis of 2008.
