Amadeus calls, Tananai answers. And as always, the network is divided. Tananai wrote a post that wasn't appreciated by everyone because it touched on the topic of the (overweight) body. A retouched photo, not real, just for fun, in which the singer appears bloated and with a few kilos too much. On Thursday, the host of the Sanremo Festival announced in the news the names of the five singers who will perform in Piazza Colombo in the Ligurian city: Lazza on Tuesday, Rosa Chemical on Wednesday, Paola and Chiara on Thursday, Arisa on Friday and Tananai on Saturday. Shortly after, Tananai, one of the most original artists known for his stunts on social media, published a post on Instagram in which he can be seen in a retouched photo with a few extra kilos. And next to it it said: “I hope to get back in shape for the guest in Sanremo, damn @amadeusonoio, I've relaxed.” Tananai obviously hadn't expected the call from Amadeus (last year he hit with the song “Tango “, who competed at the festival, received less positive predictions and took fifth place) and experienced a period of relaxation. Therefore, he shared his current status with his followers.
But the photos and comments were not well received by many. We read: “In 2024, you still laugh at pathologies, you still find it funny to change your body while someone is watching you through the screen and can feel bad about your fatphobia.” (…) It is not funny, it's embarrassing.” Then: “A gentleman artist with an amazing voice who produces one success after another.” Well, I find this post completely avoidable.” And again: “Why couldn't you sing, Even though you've gained weight?” embarrassing.” Finally: “How sad. To be honest, I don't find anything funny, also because I seem to remember that he explained that he had had problems with obesity in the past. So he knows very good what it means to be teased about your weight.”
But there are also those who want to defend and downplay the artist: “You go from one excess to the next… You need to relax a little.” Perhaps it was also an ironic (perhaps unsuccessful) attempt to joke about his weight , because he exaggerated after the Christmas holidays… Could it be that he was trying to mention a situation like this or something similar? NO? Or do you absolutely have to see the insult, the criticism, the body shaming? Mamma Mia”. Oh yes, it's becoming increasingly difficult these days to understand the line between jokes and insults.
