Taylor Swift's “The Eras Tour” has lived up to expectations and is officially the highestgrossing music tour in history. According to Guinness World Records, the singer's performance series was the first to gross more than $1 billion.
The tour, which began in March 2023 and is scheduled to end in December 2024 and includes a total of 151 performances around the world, has already grossed $1.04 billion (around R$5.16 billion).
The tour grossed a total of US$939 million (around R$4.6 billion) from 328 performances.
Guinness World Records also highlighted that Taylor's tour is so popular that it generated more revenue in 2023 than the combined tours of Beyoncé and Bruce Springsteen. The two artists complete the top 3 most profitable tours of the year.
Beyoncé's 56 performances on the Renaissance World Tour in 2023 broke Madonna's record of 14 years as the most successful music tour by a female artist. This was before Taylor Swift took over this position.
Beyoncé earned $579 million (approximately R$2.8 billion) between May and October.
The Eras Tour includes 45 songs in a three and a half hour show, divided into phases or eras of the singer.
It begins with the era of the 2019 album “Lover” with six songs, including “Cruel Summer”, one of the highlights of the presentation.
Then it goes into the “Fearless” phase of the 2008 album, which was rereleased in 2021. It continues with “Evermore” from 2020, “Reputation” from 2017 and “Speak Now” from 2010, which had its rereleased recording released this year.
In “Red” from 2012, rereleased in 2021, she sings, among other things, the title “All too well” with the new 10minute version.
Taylor continues with “Folklore,” from 2020, “1989,” from 2014 and which has just been rereleased. The singer breaks her eras for an acoustic performance with two surprise songs that change from show to show.
From there, she moves on to her latest album, “Midnights.”
Although the show is divided into scheduled acts, Taylor also takes the opportunity to make each performance unique be it through song changes, altered lyrics, announcements and special appearances.
