The Oscar winner even recalled that a young fan recognized her from the Bejeweled video and not from her iconic role in Jurassic Park.
She shared the hilarious anecdote on Jimmy Kimmel Live in January, recalling being at a friend’s farm in Oahu, where she was filming the original Jurassic Park (1993).
“I just came from their farm and there’s a tour of ‘the sights of Jurassic Park’ with a little sign that says ‘Welcome to Jurassic Park.’ And after I got to the beach and met our friends, we got in the car and I was standing right in front of the sign and there came a group of people.’
“This girl runs up to me and says, ‘Oh my God! Oh my God!” I was just like… “I just want to be with my family, let’s not do a whole Jurassic Park.” [thing]“,” said the star.
“She’s like, ‘Aren’t you the girl in the Taylor Swift video?'” Dern called the experience “amazing.”

She also gushed about working with Swift, who directed the video and played Cinderella, along with Dern, the evil stepmother, and the Haim sisters as stepsisters.
“Taylor asked me, and it sounded like an incredible time.” And I was amazed at what a great filmmaker she is, how prepared she was, how improvisational and fun it was. I had the time of my life. So it was incredible.’
Swift also previously gushed about Dern, calling her “the coolest” for agreeing to star in the video.
The singer joked that she got Dern to appear in the video by telling her she had scripted a scene in which the actress called her “tired” during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October “cheesy girl”.
“And she said, ‘I’m down,'” Swift shared, adding, “She’s the coolest, she’s so funny.”
