Despite the problems caused by the teachers' strike, particularly the FAE strike that has lasted over 20 days, parents still support the strikers.

According to a Léger poll published on Monday, more than 63% of parents support the teachers, while 30% of them oppose the strike.
This strong support from parents can be explained in particular by the fact that it is natural for them to support “those who normally look after their children,” says Québec solidaire education policy spokesperson Ruba Ghazal.
“It’s a real headache for parents. “There are a lot of parents who find it very difficult the longer it takes,” she continues in an interview with LCN.
But it is precisely parents of struggling students who have to fight for services year-round, especially from orthopedists and speech therapists, who see “mismanagement in schools” on a daily basis, explains Ms. Ghazal.
“Parents experience it better and understand what school strikers go through all year round, and that's probably why they support them,” believes the Montreal MP.
She does not rule out that Quebecers' dissatisfaction with the Legault government also pushes them to support the strike movement.
After five weeks of protest, “it’s the teachers [sur les piquets de grève] without salary. It's heroic. Being out without pay at a time when everything is expensive shows that you are fed up. Her disgust has become unspeakable. This has been going on for years!” emphasizes Ms. Ghazal.
