Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Tri-Fold? Samsung is about to launch the smartphone that folds in 3 – Phonandroid

Samsung is currently the undeniable reference in the field of foldable smartphones, at least commercially, since the company secures about 80% of global sales with this type of device. She would not intend to stop there and prepare a new offer.

However, the competition is fierce, with Chinese manufacturers in particular vying for creativity and daring. Add to that the fact that giants like Google with the Pixel Fold and Apple with an iPhone Fold will enter the arena, and we understand that the Korean giant can’t really rest on its laurels. In addition to preparing for the launch of its new range of foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, Samsung would have a new form factor in its drawers, the Tri Fold.

The South Korean giant’s triple laptop rumor isn’t entirely new. In fact, the company had filed an application Patent for such a device from June 2021 and even showed off a prototype at MWC 2023. The leaker claims that not only did Korean engineers give shape to the concept, but it will also be on our shelves before the end of the year. His tweet also states that “contrary to recent rumours” there is no Galaxy S23 FE in the pipeline.

Twitter revives the rumor of a Samsung folding smartphone with two hinges

Lovers of new technologies can only rejoice at the arrival of such a product. However, this announcement has something to question. Current foldable smartphones are notorious for not being models for strength and durability. Whether the hinge is vertical like the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or horizontal like the Oppo Find N2, No manufacturer has managed to find the ideal formula to avoid the appearance of an ugly crease.

A dual-jointed, triple device might give users an additional headache, but it would offer plenty of display and UI choices. A third sheet would add 50% more display with a diagonal of 11 inches.

10 years later, 3D returns to invade the tablet market – Frandroid

Despite technological advances and manufacturers’ efforts, 3D never managed to become a real commercial success. But is it a death? ZTE wants to believe in 3D with this new tablet that promises to revolutionize the market with a 3D screen without glasses.

A new tablet promises to revolutionize the market with a 3D screen without glasses. This is the ZTE Nubia Pad 3D, born from the collaboration between ZTE and Leia, a company specialized in 3D technologies. Available internationally as the ZTE Nubia Pad 3D, it is marketed as the Leia Lume Pad 2 in the United States due to US government restrictions on ZTE.

1679653337 984 10 years later 3D returns to invade the tablet marketZTE Nubia Pad 3D // Source: ZTE

The tablet is equipped with a 12.4-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This screen uses Leia technology to create the 3D effect associated with motion tracking front camera. So the device makes it possible, like a Nintendo 3DS, to send slightly different images to each eye. The effective resolution will likely be halved in 3D mode, as we saw on an Asus PC at CES 2023.

3D offers an impressive visual experience, but encounters certain difficulties

True, similar technologies have already been used on different screens, such as the Nintendo 3DS but also the Sharp Aquos Phone or the LG Optimus 3D. 3D without glasses will have taken 10 years to come back, it requires a lot of technology and a lot of processing power, not to mention high-resolution screens, low latency and high refresh rates.

We had the chance to come across a comparable tablet at CES 2023. It was amazing. 3D technology without glasses is a truly immersive visual experience that makes you even more immersed. This technology manages to create an illusion of depth and relief without the need to wear glasses.

For this ZTE tablet, the data sheet seems to date two years ago, with a 2021 Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, a 9070 mAh battery that is compatible with the 33W fast charge is compatible, and Android 12L operating system. The tablet also features a microSD slot, a USB-C port, four speakers, and a pogo pin connector for charging support. It’s light years away from the LG Optimus Pad (2011, after all).

1679653338 107 10 years later 3D returns to invade the tablet marketZTE Nubia Pad 3D // Source: ZTE

The big question concerns the availability of 3D content for display on the tablet. Users have several options: create their own content using the stereoscopic front (8 megapixels) and rear cameras (16 megapixels) or resort to real-time conversion of 2D videos to 3D, although this can be problematic. A 3D viewing option is also available, however both participants will need a Leia tablet. There are some compatible videos too, mostly movies like we saw at CES.

Leia offers a full ecosystem of 3D apps through its Leia Appstore, including 3D games and developer tools for Unity, Unreal, Android SDK, Maya, Blender, and WebGL. Finally, the Leia Flix application offers 3D movies from the Disney and Warner Bros catalogs. Leia Viewer allows you to create 3D models.

1679653340 318 10 years later 3D returns to invade the tablet marketZTE Nubia Pad 3D // Source: ZTE

In addition to this content problem, this tablet will have a second major obstacle: its price. The ZTE Nubia Pad 3D is available for pre-order internationally for €1,299, while the Leia Lume Pad 2 costs $1,099 in the US.

We want to believe

We want to believe it, but 3D isn’t convincing yet. Since its appearance more than a decade ago (and even longer), this technology has been the subject of many attempts to implement it in various fields, including cinema, video games and television. However, despite technological advances and manufacturers’ efforts, 3D never managed to become a real commercial success. The reasons for this failure are manifold: high costs, visual problems, lack of suitable content or even the obligation to wear special glasses to use the three-dimensional effect.

Today, with ZTE and Leia’s 3D tablet launching, one can’t help but wonder if this will be the right time. Both companies are banking on dodging eyewear with light field technology and an ecosystem of dedicated apps to appeal to consumers. But is that enough to reignite interest in 3D and finally make it an enduring commercial success? Only the future will tell us. Despite the promises of a three-dimensional viewing experience, it’s legitimate to remain skeptical about the future of this product.

Huawei launches headphones that can measure your temperature and heart rate – Frandroid

Huawei has presented two new headphones: the FreeBuds 5 with a very original design and the FreeBuds Pro 2+ for measuring heart rate and temperature.

The Huawei FreeBuds 5The Huawei FreeBuds 5 // Source: Huawei

On Thursday, March 23, Huawei presented its new smartphones Huawei P60, P60 Pro and P60 Art in China, but also its folding model Mate X3 and its new high-end connected watch Huawei Watch Ultimate. The Chinese manufacturer also took advantage of the event to lift the veil on its new wireless headphones, the Huawei FreeBuds 5, as expected.

FreeBuds 5 in a very strange format

As you can expect from the teasers shared in the last few days, the Huawei FreeBuds 5 stand out above all for their very original shape, with rounded stems, with a very ergonomic shape, far from the straight and sometimes even angular stems of some competitors.

Like the FreeBuds 4 or FreeBuds 3 before them – and unlike the “Pro” ranges or the FreeBuds 5i – the Huawei FreeBuds 5 are button-style earbuds. They do not benefit from silicone tips and therefore do not offer passive isolation. So they’re like the AirPods 3 open-back headphones. But that doesn’t stop them – at least on paper – from benefiting from active noise cancellation. In fact, Huawei announces adaptive hybrid noise cancellation thanks to the integration of three microphones per earbud.

For sound reproduction, the Huawei FreeBuds 5 are also equipped with 11 mm diameter transducers capable of recovering frequencies from 16 to 40,000 Hz. They are also compatible with Bluetooth audio codecs LHDC and LDAC for transmission up to 990 kbps and Hi-Res Audio Wireless Certification.

In terms of autonomy, Huawei headphones are equipped with 42 mAh batteries, while their case benefits from a 505 mAh battery. Enough to allow up to 3.5 hours of listening with noise cancellation on paper (5 hours without noise cancellation) and up to 20 hours with the case (30 hours without noise cancellation). The case is also compatible with Qi wireless charging via induction.

Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+ for measuring temperature and heart rate

In addition to the FreeBuds 5, Huawei has also announced a new version of its high-end wireless headphones, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2+. Always developed in collaboration with the French Devialet, they also benefit from a measurement of heart rate and body temperature, taking up the main characteristics of the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2. As a reminder, these headphones are therefore equipped with two transducers per ear. an in-ear format and active noise cancellation.

Huawei has already announced the marketing of the Huawei FreeBuds 5 in France. They will be available in France from May 9th at a price not yet communicated. However, keep in mind that the FreeBuds 4 were priced at €150 at launch. We can therefore expect the same price range for their successors. For their part, the FreeBuds Pro 2+ have not been announced for the French market.

Galaxy S24 Heres what we know about the chip used

Galaxy S24: Here’s what we know about the chip used in Samsung’s next smartphone – Phonandroid

The Galaxy S23 was released just over a month ago, but the Galaxy S24 is already making waves, including its processor. We already know what to expect in terms of device performance.

When we first heard about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that will power Samsung’s next high-end Galaxy S24, the chip was already promising to be more powerful than Apple’s A16. We also recently learned that Qualcomm would opt for a 1+5+2 core configuration this time around, and that’s exactly what another report just confirmed.

In fact, developer and famous whistleblower Kuba Wojciechowski just revealed on his Twitter account that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is currently sporting the Codename Lanai or Pineapple and model number SM8650. Most importantly, however, the leak tells us more about what to expect from the chip’s cores.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 still looks more powerful

According to Kuba Wojciechowski, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 would be used one ARM Cortex-X series “Gold+” CPU core, two ARM Cortex-A7xx “Titanium” CPU cores, three ARM Cortex-A7xx “Gold” CPU cores and two ARM Cortex-A5xx “Silver” CPU cores. We therefore find a 1 + 5 + 2 configuration and no longer 1 + 4 + 3 as in the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

By opting for an additional gold core, Samsung will probably rely heavily on the performance of its chip. A silver core therefore had to be sacrificed, the most energy efficient core, which means this new chip possibly not much less power hungry.

Above all, we know that The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 would continue to use TSMC’s 4nm etch, Apple has probably monopolized the new process in 3 nm. Therefore, only minor improvements in energy efficiency can be expected.

Finally, Kuba Wojciechowski also reveals that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is also equipped with the Adreno 750 GPU (Adreno Gen 7.9.0) clocked at 770MHz. However, this frequency may change in the future. According to other leaks, this year Qualcomm could decide to launch its chip a few weeks ahead of the usual schedule and therefore we could see the Galaxy S24 arriving as early as next January.

Why did OpenAI urgently need to disable ChatGPT Futura

Why did OpenAI urgently need to disable ChatGPT? – Futura

Earlier this week, internet users were surprised by the outage of chatbot ChatGPTChatGPT. In reality, it was OpenAI that was forced to disable the service after a data leak shared on social networkssocial networks.

The chatbotchatbot saves the history of conversations presented in the form of tabs, each with a title that summarizes the exchanges. However, netizens found that the history shown was not their own, and some shared screenshots on Reddit or Twitter with titles like “emotional support therapy” or “development of Chinese socialism”. Fortunately, it was not possible to access the exchanges’ content, instead the site displayed an error. However, just being able to read the titles of other users’ tabs is a disturbing invasion of their privacy.

The case was confirmed on Twitter by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI. According to him, the leak was caused by a bug in an open-source function library that has since been fixed. However, this raises the question of the processing and security of the personal data collected by OpenAI, especially knowing that the chatbot can be used to write personal messages, create documents for work or simply discuss sensitive topics.. .

Reliability of discarded contact information

The network has millions of users and connects other popular websites with regular visitors to your exhibition. You can quickly find an email on LinkedIn from places like Facebook and sites with lots of daily visitors. As shown below, its reliability comes from having access to contacts with desirable online behavior.

Active Users

Contacts become part of the company’s updated mailing list, which puts your campaigns in front of people who see them and respond accordingly as soon as possible.

Potential buyers

First, you can opt for cloud storage where your newly updated contact list can be accessed from a networked station. Additionally, you can download the list and export it to your local computer drives where you can retrieve it whenever you need it.
