16yearold teenager Rohan Godhania died of brain damage after drinking a protein shake in London, UK. The case occurred in August 2020, however the death trial took place on Tuesday (27).
Pushpa and Hitendra Godhania, Rohan’s parents, reported that their son took the supplement to build muscle and improve posture. However, by using the product, he discovered a rare genetic disease.
Rohan became ill after taking the shake and had to be hospitalized for two days, but he couldn’t resist.
After his death, Rohan’s organs were donated and one person who received the liver donation suffered from seizures. “We felt pressured to donate our son’s organs without knowing how he died. and then her [os órgãos] made another person sick,” Rohan’s parents told MyLondon News.
The process investigating the teen’s death says a postdeath inquest failed to identify the cause. It was only later revealed that the young man had an ornithine transcarbamylase (OTC) deficiency, which can cause damage after eating proteins, according to the Chron.
