Martina Navratilova announced on Monday that she has double larynx and breast cancer, which she is preparing to “fight with everything” she has, according to the WTA website.
“This double whammy is serious, but still reversible,” announced the 66-year-old ex-player, quoted by the WTA.

Born in Czechoslovakia behind the Iron Curtain, the American was examined last November after discovering a lump in her throat.

On that occasion, doctors also diagnosed her second breast cancer, both stage 1.
According to the WTA, she will begin treatment in New York next week.
Her great rival on the courts, who became her boyfriend Chris Evert, announced in January 2022 that she had ovarian cancer. In May she was declared in remission.
