BUENOS AIRES, 6th November (RHC) – Argentine President Alberto Fernández has spoken out in favor of advancing the institutionalization process of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
In this sense, the President stressed the importance of the Seventh Summit of Heads of State of this organization, scheduled for next January, and urged to define a regulatory framework that will allow CELAC to function better.
In an interview with radio station Futurock, Fernández pointed out that all steps taken must be based on unity in relation to plurality and diversity.
He also recalled that Argentina’s exercise of the pro-tempore presidency of this mechanism will end in 2023, but expressed his confidence in its strengthening with the arrival of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the Brazilian government.
When Mexico, Brazil and Argentina are aligned towards a common destiny, it will be easier to achieve our goals. We have a great opportunity to give Celac a stronger and more solid impetus, he assured.
On the other hand, Fernández called on the Frente de Todos to prevent the return of justice to this nation and face adversity together.
