Beijing, June 19 (Prensa Latina) The Chinese Communist Youth League begins its 19th Congress today with an agenda dedicated to debate the work accomplished over the past five years, its achievements and the challenges ahead.
The gathering will be attended by 1,535 delegates from different walks of life, averaging 31.3 years old, selected for their role models in terms of ideals, beliefs, political preparation, job performance and behavior.
Sessions will last until the 22nd and will include deliberation on the work report of the 18th Central Committee of the League and amendments to the founding document, as well as the election of the new members.
In addition, it was revealed that during the conclave, the organization will implement the principles adopted by the 20th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party to strengthen national unity as the country pursues the goal of becoming a modern socialist state.
Likewise, according to the Xinhua News Agency, they will analyze the current situation of young people and call on them to stand up for their self-confidence and independence, take responsibility and be more open and inclusive.
The league has 73.6 million members drawn from schools, businesses, government agencies and social organizations across the country.
More than half of them are students of different levels of education, as members are accepted from the age of 14.
The organization also has more than four million cores summarizing its members.
Last year it celebrated its 100th anniversary and Xi Jinping, the country’s president and top leader of the Chinese Communist Party, urged it to reinvent itself and take into account the new changes in work and life of the new generations bring everyone together. in defense of the “flag of patriotism and socialism”.
