The Legislative Committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol recommended the Justice Department this Monday to indict former President Donald Trump (2017-2021).
The commission finds that Trump obstructed official procedures, instigated a riot, conspired to defraud the federal government and made a false statement.
The committee has no prosecution or decision-making authority in the investigations already initiated by the Department of Justice.
