For the second time in as many days, the Quebec Remparts faced the Gatineau Olympics, but things ended better than the day before as Eric Veilleux’s men won 3-2 in a shootout at the Slush Puppie Center on Saturday.
With this win the losing streak ends at three. Charles Savoie had two assists in the game. He also scored a goal in the shootout along with his teammate Vsevolod Komarov.

The Remparts showed character. Trailing twice during the game, striker Xavier Lebel decided to take matters into his own hands, scoring the equalizer twice to the delight of his family present in the stands.
With 9:02 left in the third period, the number nine received Savoie’s pass before deflecting the puck backhanded to deceive the alertness of Olympic goaltender Zach Pelletier.
Komarov and Antoine Michaud were also accomplices in Lebel’s networks.
William Labranche and Joey Vetrano are the ones who kept the red light shining for Gatineau.
In goal, Louis-Antoine Denault made 23 saves on 25 shots for the Quebec team. Pelletier continued his momentum from Friday night and also stopped 23 of the 25 shots aimed at him.
The Remparts now have a record of 8-12-0, good for ninth place in the Eastern Conference. They will host the Sherbrooke Phoenix on November 17th at the Videotron Center.
