During 2023, several figures who shaped Colombia’s history died. These people left an indelible mark on the memory of Colombians and their deaths attracted widespread attention on social networks and in the media.such as the sculptor and painter Fernando Botero, the actress Alejandra Villafañe, among others.
For this reason, we will remember some characters who passed away this year.
Adolfo Pacheco
Pacheco was a Colombian musician, composer and singer of vallenato music. His most famous singles include “El Viejo Miguel” and “La Hamaca Grande.”
The 82-year-old singer-songwriter died on Saturday, January 28, in BarranquillaThis was confirmed by the General del Norte Clinic, where he was hospitalized for a traffic accident he suffered days ago.

Luis Fernando Munera
On February 9th, actor Luis Fernando Múnera died at the age of 73. He is known for his participation in productions such as “El Bogotazo”, “Pedro el escamoso”, “The Sins of Inés de Hinojosa”, “I will teach you how to love”, “Squid”, “The other stripe of the tiger ” among other things.
He played the character of Dr. Juan Carlos Uribe in “La costeña y el cachaco”.

Ana Pineres
Ana Piñeres Angarita was a famous producer and manager of international series such as “Pálpito” or the second season of “Pasión de Gavilanes”. She died on Monday, March 20, after a heart attack.

Rafael Ricardo
The experienced accordion player Rafael Ricardo died on June 21st at the Gestión Salud clinic in Cartagena as a result of cerebral ischemia. He is remembered for forming a musical alliance with Otto Serge, creating hits such as “Señora”, “El mochuelo”, “Esposa mia”, “Pueblerina” and “Bendita Duda”, among others.
Fernando Botero
The death of Fernando Botero was heard around the world as he was one of the most important painters and sculptors of today. He died on September 15th at the age of 91. because he had contracted pneumonia, which was affecting his health.

Teto Ocampo
Teto Ocampo was one of the most prominent musicians of his generation and one of those responsible for the sound of two of Carlos Vives’ legendary albums: “Clásicos de laprovincia” and “La tierra del olvido”.
The artist died on September 27th as a result of cancer that he was diagnosed with last August.

Alejandra Villafane
The Colombian actress, psychologist and former beauty queen died on October 21 after a battle with cancer. He had revealed on his social networks that in the first months of the year he had been diagnosed with three tumors in different parts of his body, which he preferred to describe as “miracles, teachers or some not so well received friends”.
Nicolas Cardona
The actor Nicolás Cardona died on October 31st at the age of 63It is not known exactly what led to his death, but his health had deteriorated in recent years.
He is known for his roles in various roles in national productions such as “Chepe Fortuna”, “Pasión de gavilanes”, “Merlina, mujer divina” and “Casa de Reinas”.
