Guatemala City, September 29 (EFE). – The Public Ministry (Prosecution Service) raided the headquarters of the Supreme Electoral Court for the fourth time this Friday. The case is currently being investigated due to alleged anomalies on the election days of June 25 and 20. August.
According to the spokesman for the Supreme Electoral Court, the public prosecutor’s office apparently demanded documentation of the voting process. According to EFE, the headquarters of this organization is cordoned off and guarded by around 70 police officers.
Guatemalan prosecutors have raided the electoral court at least four times and have been cracking down on President-elect Bernardo Arévalo’s Semilla movement for two months.
