Some find the Lula government’s silence on the death of artist Juca Chaves strange. As a critic of the military regime, the singer and composer was exiled to Portugal in the 1970s.

However, there is a reason no homage has been paid by the Lula government. In 2015, Juca Chaves released the song “Goodbye in Lava Jato rhythm”.

The lyrics says:

“Honesty is long gone. Consequences always come later. Therefore every day to the delight of Brazil. A thief dies and two are born.”

Another passage is even more striking:

“One politician leaves, another joins the gang. A puppet of a theater without morals. And the people who voted not to lose Bolsa Família. He no longer believes in Vorsalz. Unfortunately, the country has gone backwards. They dried up our petrobras. Goodbye Goodbye). Thieves! (Thieves!). Goodbye PT, Greetings”.
