The Mediaset Codes: Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s decent

The Mediaset Codes Just because its legal doesnt mean its

When Richard Gere brags in “Pretty Woman” that only a few people can surprise him, Julia Roberts replies to him that I don’t go a day without quotes: “You’re lucky, most of them blew me away.”

On Monday I began to reach a stony conclusion while listening to the conflict between Israel and Palestine analyzed by, wait a minute: Lolita, Alaska, Vicky Martín Berrocal and Xavier Sardá, a happy coincidence: nothing could have been better in this circus fitting as delivering a Gallifante to the most arbitrary comment. After the horrors of war and the dangers of equidistance, the word of the week in the political world, they began to wonder why we are fatter on Mondays. TardeAR is like that, I didn’t invent it. As I never tire of granite hardness, I returned to Telecinco that evening, intrigued by the supposedly exclusive global interest that led them to abandon their prime time slot to air a Code 10 special.

There was Nacho Abad, the guy who always seems to be just a gin and tonic away from cutting the groom’s tie. “Watch Jennifer Hermoso burst into tears,” he said proudly. Let’s see who didn’t wake up that day, other than being fatter because it was Monday, and wanting to witness the umpteenth humiliation of an assaulted woman. It turned out that the vaunted exclusive leaked the football player’s statement to the judge. Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s decent, but decent is never the word of the week in the media group that prides itself on an ethical code.

I waited for the hearings with more interest than when my job depended on them; I was comforted by the ridiculous information the special prosecutor received. The fact that viewers are turning their backs on such pathetic attempts to scrape off a few tenths of a share is no longer news, but we shouldn’t stop celebrating it.
