Return of the Storms

The frontal system at the origin of the thunderstorms that raged in northwestern Quebec this Thursday is moving south. With the heat and humidity well-established in the province, action could come in several regions on Friday. The risk becomes moderate for the sectors of the Saint-Lawrence Valley, but also for Estrie, Saguenay, Gaspésie and Beauce.

From the morning of Friday there could be thunderstorms in the greater metropolitan area. These storm cells could produce heavy rain, strong gusts and hail. In Montreal and west of the big city, the risk remains lower.

Later in the day, the system would move northeast. The Gaspésie and Bas-Saint-Laurent regions are in the crosshairs of these storms. The danger would continue into the evening, but the available energy should decrease as the front advances.
