Quentin Tarantino begins filming the tenth and final film of his incredible career. In the last few days, the legendary director of Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood has confirmed the title of the project. The Film Criticwhich is scheduled to begin filming in the fall.
However, Tarantino has denied one of the most persistent rumors to surface since his announcement, which is about theidentity of the protagonist. During an event at the Grand Rex Theater in Paris, he actually silenced voices that would have liked the character Pauline Kaelone of the most important and influential film critics of all time, at the center of film events.
We currently do not know whether the announced female protagonist of the film will be based on a real character; However, the director has confirmed The Movie Critic’s other advances, namely that it is deployed Los Angeles in 1977a year that marked cinematic history with the debut of films like the unforgettable first chapter of the Star Wars saga and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
It was in this context that the careers of the best young New Hollywood directors began, among which Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Francis Ford Coppola and Brian De Palma stand out. If confirmed, The Movie Critic would have all the qualities to represent it worthy conclusion of Quentin Tarantino’s directing career, who has always claimed he wants to direct 10 movies. The legendary director and screenwriter is currently stuck at nine (if you consider Kill Bill a unique film) and just turned 60 a few days ago, the age at which he has always declared his intention to retire.
We’ll just have to wait for more news on one of the most anticipated projects of the coming months.
