“The office helped me through some of the darkest days of my life. I can’t thank you enough for that,” a flight attendant wrote to Rainn Wilson, one of the actors in the popular series.
The 58-year-old actor, who played Dwight Schrute in the hit series “The Office,” shared a photo on his social media last Friday of the touching message written on a napkin by admirer Melanie.
“I didn’t even see who dropped that on my lap at PDX airport [Portland]“But I really appreciate this sentiment, Alaska Airlines flight attendant Melanie,” the actor commented.
“It is a great honor to be part of a show that has touched, comforted and inspired. And it goes on! It’s so rare.”
“A continued thank you to the entire The Office family, the cast, the writers, the crew and especially the AUDIENCE!” He continued, adding mockingly, “This is not an open invitation to write me notes on napkins!”
It is not the first time that the actor has experienced beautiful moments while traveling thanks to the fans of the series.
During a flight last April, the actor filmed his seatmate watching “The Office” without knowing he was sitting in the seat next to him (he was wearing a mask and headphones).
“When the person sitting next to you has no idea who you are…” he wrote under the video he posted on Instagram.
The 201 episodes of “The Office” were broadcast between 2005 and 2013. The series saw a resurgence during the pandemic lockdown.
