The President continues to carry out work in the Department of Bolivia

“We come to the municipality of Vitichi with three works. We have delivered the construction of this micro-irrigation system in Palca de Flores, a project that will ensure, above all, the production of fruits and others,” said the dignitary during the handover ceremony.

He added that this project required an investment of three million bolivianos (almost $430,000), with the equivalent of 19 percent contributed by the regional government.

He described that construction began in December 2022 and was completed in August this year and is expected to benefit more than 150 producer families.

“This guarantees food security,” declared the president, “and production without having to wait for the rain.”

Adding to the previous work was the drinking water system in Yawisla, which required government spending of 1.3 million bolivianos ($185,000) as “access to water resources has always been a priority for the national government,” he said.

Also this Saturday, Arce delivered the vehicle bridge in Quiquila, which will primarily benefit the producer families, for 1.5 million bolivianos ($214,000).

“These three works that we are already delivering today are worth almost six million Bolivianos for Vitichi (…). The small works add up and, above all, ensure a better quality of life, better economic opportunities and, above all, health,” concluded the President.

The day before, in Potosí, Arce recalled that the country had suffered the effects of the La Niña and El Niño phenomena for three years in a row, which is why the executive is examining the construction of dams and irrigation systems in Maraca, Uncía.

In this context, the construction of irrigation systems in Cuyo Pampoyu and in Huayllani Chico as well as another pump irrigation system in Sausau, in Uncía, is also planned.

“The government is committed to ensuring water supply through dams. Then will follow the irrigation programs that many communities are waiting for to ensure agricultural production,” explained Arce.

Arce Day in Potosí ended this Friday in the municipality of Tingipaya with the inauguration of the Cabildo Hilchaco irrigation system and the Vila Pampa vehicle bridge.

Less than a week before the anniversary of his inauguration as President on November 8, 2019 and the 213th of the Libertarian Act of Potosí on the 10th of the current month, the President of Bolivia is traveling to different jurisdictions to carry out works of social benefit.
