Nintendo's next console, nicknamed the Nintendo Switch 2 by gamers and media, should be released towards the end of 2024. According to several sources and specialist media, this is ultimately more likely to happen in the first quarter of 2025.

We'll leave this in the “rumors” category since the Nintendo company hasn't confirmed anything. Eurogamer and VGC say they have confirmed Nikkei's reports detailing plans for the Switch 2, but until Nintendo says something, we'll stick with speculation.
According to Nikkei research, the Switch 2's release would have been pushed back to March 2025 to avoid hardware shortages that could lead to excessive resales. However, according to Nikkei, the Switch 2 will also be hybrid (portable and living room) and have a larger screen than the first Nintendo Switch.
However, that doesn't mean the Switch 2 won't be revealed much sooner. Finally, the Nintendo Switch was introduced in October 2016 and then released in March 2017. So we may get a sneak peek at Nintendo's next console this fall or winter. Fingers crossed!
