At the end of this week, the weather shows its changeable side again – the risk of thunderstorms remains high, especially in the east.
The eastern half of Austria will remain under the influence of a high-altitude low with a core over the Balkans on Sunday. The air therefore remains prone to rain, especially in eastern Austria. At the beginning of the new week, the frontal system of a low pressure complex with a core between the British Isles and the Benelux countries intervenes in the climate and also causes showers and sometimes strong thunderstorms in the west. On Tuesday and Wednesday, a temporary weak influence of high pressure sets in before further disturbance is felt from the west on Thursday, so the risk of showers and thunderstorms increases again.
At the Sunday dense clouds and some short showers are moving in the east. From Vorarlberg to Upper Austria and East Tyrol, on the other hand, the chance of rain is low and the sun predominates. The wind blows from Upper Austria to Lake Constance moderately from the east, in the east sometimes quickly from the north. With 22 to 31 degrees it will be summer and hot.
At the Monday the east tends to show its friendly side, but showers and thunderstorms spread from the west. The first rains can already be expected in Vorarlberg and the Upper Inn Valley in the early hours of the morning. This, along with reinforcements from the storm, spread eastward and reached the Waldviertel and Upper Styria at night. The few clouds in the far east, on the other hand, remain harmless. With a sometimes strong west wind, maximum values of 22 to 32 degrees are reached.

Of Tuesday starts with some remaining clouds and eastwards along the Alps north of Salzburg with the last rains. While things continue to be friendly in the west, cumulus clouds form especially on the eastern edge of the Alps and the Waldviertel and here isolated heat storms occur in the afternoon. A strong northwesterly wind blows across the eastern Danube and the plains. The maximum values are between 26 and 32 degrees.
At the Wednesday shines early in the morning, the sun spreads. Furthermore, only a few harmless cumulus clouds pass during the day. The wind will refresh from the south and the main ridge will be foehn, especially in the west in fated valleys storm gusts are possible. At night the clouds will thicken in the west and the first drops are possible. Maximum values are between a sweaty 28 to 35 degrees.
