BY Alejandro Feregrino-. Inheritance issues are always complex, but when we talk about the will of Andrés García, who died on April 4 of respiratory complications from liver cirrhosis and other illnesses, things get even more complicated.
The possible heirs
García has been one of the most sought-after leading actors in film and television in Mexico in recent decades. He was considered a sex symbol in dozens of films and soap operas. with an enormous weakness for women. He was married four times and had three acknowledged children; Andrés Junior, Leonardo – fruit of his marriage to Sandra Vale – and Andrea, daughter of Fernanda Ampudia, with whom he had a very distant relationship, so much so that of the three only Leonardo attended the funeral.
Andrés Junior was an actor for a time but eventually moved to the United States where he pursued a professional career off the screen. His brother Leonardo has had a successful career as a model and actor. The relationship between them was broken, with reunions and disagreements.
With Andrea the story is very different. The relationship was so distant that he even denied his paternity.
“For me, she doesn’t even exist,” he said in an interview in July 2022, in which he denied any possibility of reconciliation since Andrea had allegedly accused him of sexual abuse.
“She’s a bad person,” she told TVyNovelas, “she messed with people from the black mafia, I know she’s even involved in prostitution. I tried to give her some advice and she made up a silly thing for me that I’d been raping her ever since.” “was little,” she explained.
On her Instagram account, Andrea García assured that she had never given such an interview and accused some media of lying and breaking up with her father.
Since 2011, Andrés has been married to Margarita Portillo, who has never had a good relationship with her children and has accused her of manipulating her father and taking advantage of his health.

The interpreter of “Chanoc” also survives his sister Rosa María García; In addition, the actor Roberto Palazuelos, who had been his close friend since childhood and whom he considered his father, was also mentioned by García as one of his heirs, although they also became estranged due to problems with Portillo.

a recurring theme
The one who brought the subject of the will – or wills of Andrés García – to the table was Andrés García himself.
On several occasions, both in interviews with the media and in videos on his social networks, he spoke openly about his legacy and even revealed who his heirs would be, the figures given varying depending on the status of the relationship he had at the time had to them changed .
For example, he “engaged” his children months before his death: “They have such small mothers that I am very ill and they won’t even let me die in peace. Leonardo and other of my children have such small mothers.” “The people who are there, all because they want to keep the inheritance; they’re going to get pure motherfuckers,” the Pedro Navajas actor said on one occasion.
On another occasion, he told Ventaneando that Palazuelos would not take up his part of the inheritance either: “I had named Roberto as heir, but I will remove him. This situation causes me a lot of problems, I remove it and it’s over.”
inheritance controversies
Andrés Junior and Andrea García have decided to stay out of inheritance conflicts. Leonardo, on the other hand, was on the alert, even revealing that there would be three different wills: one he signed for Margarita, one he signed with Roberto Palazuelos, and one he wrote himself, although all in his hands lies a notary.
During the unveiling of a bust honoring his father in Acapulco – where he spent much of his life – Leonardo assured that Margarita Portillo was delaying the opening of the will because she had not provided the relevant documents to do so.
“First you open the famous will, don’t you? I don’t know what my father’s last wish was then it will start from there it’s what he decided I’m fine with that and well everyone else.”
“We had already handed over the documents to the notary here in Acapulco, I spoke to him yesterday and then he tells me that those who have not handed in their papers, Margarita (…) on behalf of my brother, my mother and … I have my papers in order, the ones he doesn’t have are Margarita’s, he says so,” he said.
One more element needs to be added to this. Recently, Palazuelos asserted that García and Portillo’s marriage was invalid as he never divorced his first wife and mother of his children, Sandra Vale. Something Leonardo confirmed.
In response, Portillo released a statement asking that he await the opening of the will and downplaying the allegations made against him.
“On the other hand, it is with great sadness that I tell you that I have also seen attacks against me, my family and everything related to the relationship between my husband and me. From all that is said, I will not go.” getting into complications because I will not engage in the games of the dark intentions of certain individuals or a group of people who are only out to cowardly harm and to injure.
“Once my husband’s will is opened and his last will is read and its terms are respected as he wished, my attorneys and I will make the appropriate statements and interviews,” he concluded.
