The Ukrainian army claims to have shot down 300 “drones” since September

According to Ukrainian Air Force Command spokesman Yuriy Ignat, the Russian army has deployed “drones” in a “successive waves” regime based on strategic calculations, but has begun to reduce firing due to the number of devices they possess is decreasing .

The army’s information follows a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the latest of his early morning messages, in which he said that Ukraine has suffered more than 8,000 airstrikes since the start of the Russian invasion.

Zelenskyy stressed that in the past two days, Ukrainian forces shot down 23 out of a total of 30 “drones” fired by Russian troops, mostly targeting critical infrastructure, energy and other civilian targets.

Zelenskyi also noted the progress made by Ukraine in terms of the effectiveness and capability of its antiaircraft defenses in the eight months since the Russian invasion began on February 24.

Zelenskyi’s message came at a time when the counteroffensive launched by the Ukrainian army in Donetsk and Lugansk appeared to be slowing down.

According to the Ukrinform portal, citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian troops are focused on maintaining the occupied territory on the right bank of the Kherson region.

The military offensive launched by Russia in Ukraine on February 24, which entered its 247th day today, caused the displacement of more than 13 million people more than six million internally displaced and more than 7.7 million to other Europeans so the latest UN data classifying this refugee crisis as the worst in Europe since World War II (19391945).

The invasion, justified by Russian President Vladimir Putin with the need to “denazify” and demilitarize Ukraine for the country’s security, was generally condemned by the international community, which responded by sending arms to the Ukrainian authorities and imposing on Russia by political and economic sanctions.

The UN presented as confirmed 6,374 civilian deaths and 9,776 wounded since the beginning of the war, underlining that these figures are far below the actual figures.
