The War of the Worlds which the extras took part

The War of the Worlds, which the extras took part in for a very special reason

war of the Worldsis the second collaboration between Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg after Minority Report. For the 2005 film, the director used special tricks during the shooting of some scenes, including hiring people on the street for some very special scenes.

Steven Spielberg himself admitted that there were problems with the end of the War of the Worlds, but that didn’t stop him from making a film with an incredible production facility. The film, which chronicles the alien invasion of Earth and the subsequent massacre it entails, sees Tom Cruise as a father who will do anything to keep his two sons alive. In order to shoot some scenes involving many people, the producers used very special tricks.

The first and most important was to hire people on the street who showed up at the time of shooting with cameras and film to shoot very special scenes. In one of the film’s most iconic moments, the protagonist runs out of the house in search of his eldest son while passers-by photograph a thunderstorm on the street. Producers’ “payment” to those involved in the scene was the chance to get free photos of Tom Cruise. That convinced a lot of people to show up on the set.
