The White House criticizes the Texas governor for sending in immigrants on Christmas Eve

WASHINGTON (Portal) The White House on Monday accused Texas Gov. Greg Abbott of risking lives after busloads of immigrants from Texas’ southwest border near the home of Vice President Kamala Harris in Washington on a cold Christmas Eve Washington, D.C. .

Republican Abbott, a vehement critic of the Biden administration’s immigration policies, has not acknowledged the vehicles being shipped on Christmas Eve, and his office has not accepted responsibility. President Joe Biden is a Democrat.

An estimated 110 to 130 migrants seeking asylum in the United States, many of them families with children, were loaded onto buses by Texas authorities, immigrant relief groups said Sunday after the migrants’ arrival in the US capital.

“Governor Abbott abandoned children by the side of the road in subzero temperatures on Christmas Eve without coordinating with any federal or local agency,” White House spokesman Abdullah Hasan said in a statement.

“Political games get nowhere and only endanger lives,” added Hasan.

Texas bused thousands of migrants to Washington, New York and Chicago in a move some critics called a political maneuver amid a national debate over the high number of migrant arrivals along the US southern border.

Hasan said the Biden administration is willing to work with Democrats and Republicans on solutions to the migrant problem.
