The world’s oldest dog has died at the age of 31

Bobi, the dog considered the oldest in the world, died on Friday 20 in Portugal. He agreed to that Book of Records (in English, Guinness World Records). In May of this year he turned 31 in a celebration with more than 100 people the life expectancy of the breed is 12 to 14 years. He was an Alentejo mutt, a traditional breed in Portugal. Guinness confirmed the death through a post on its website. “He died on October 20th at his home in the Portuguese town of Conqueiros, where he spent his entire life with the Costa family.” Bobi’s veterinarian, Karen Becker, shared on his social networks that “although he has surpassed all dogs in history, his 11,478 days on earth will never be enough for those who loved him.” The dog was recognized as the world’s oldest dog in February 2023. This was made possible through a comparison with the pet database approved and managed by the Portuguese government National Union of Veterinary Physicianswhich his birth in 1992 proved.
