FOCUS- The Pyongyang regime, which abandoned nuclear talks, is stepping up ballistic testing. The North Korean military fired cruise missiles on Wednesday.
North Korea is no longer at its first provocation. But since the end of September, the Pyongyang regime’s ballistic tests have marked a turning point. In fact, it is the first time that these are officially presented as exercises for the purpose of nuclear strikes.
North Korea now boasts of having operational ballistic and cruise missiles to carry nuclear payloads. “Units of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) responsible for the use of tactical nuclear weapons held military exercises from September 25 to October 9 to test and evaluate the country’s nuclear deterrence and counterattack capability,” it said Monday the official agency KCNA recalling the “simulation of a real war”.
